Chat with RTX, to be shortened to ChatRTX, showed off expanded capabilities and LLM models to GTC attendees (check out our earlier blog for a refresher on LLMs), which will be available in a future update for the 100 million RTX AI PCs and workstations worldwide to take advantage of.

ChatRTX will be able to understand verbal speech and respond back in text, through an AI automatic speech recognition system called Whisper. Users will even be able to ask ChatRTX to find photos in their private library through words, terms or phrases in their inquiries — finding a photo from 20 years ago will now be a piece of cake, without having to dig through folder after folder. And support for more LLM models will be added, including ChatGLM2 and Google’s Gemma, providing users with more flexibility.

More AI News from GTC include further integrated RTX AI acceleration for creative apps like Blackmagic Design and Topaz Labs, as well as expansion of TensorRT-LLM integration with popular developer frameworks like Jan.ai, Langchain, LlamaI-index and Oobabooga.

Plus NVIDIA NIM inference microservices are coming to RTX PCs, helping developers create more AI apps to add to the over 500 RTX AI apps already available. For more details on what that all means, we break it all down on this week’s AI Decoded.

We also spotlight the three winners of the NVIDIA Generative AI on NVIDIA RTX developer contest, from an app that that gives Outlook users private generative AI, to a project designed to enhance the command line interface of PowerShell by translating plain English instructions into actionable commands

And to dig further into AI, make sure to check out the GTC keynote from NVIDIA CEO, Jensen Huang, here.
