On November 15, 2023, according to the official public account of "Tsingtuo Group" in China, at 11:30 PM on November 10, 2023, Tsingtuo Cold Rolling Technology successfully rolled the world's thinnest steel sheet at 0.015mm, setting a world record.

This ultra-thin steel sheet, also known as hand-tearable steel or stainless steel foil, is a type of extremely thin and lightweight steel material, comparable in value to gold.

Ultra-thin stainless steel foil is widely used in various industries such as aerospace, electronics, renewable energy, and medical devices. It finds applications ranging from aircraft to solar panels and even foldable phone screens.

Due to its material properties, high technical capabilities, and precision, ultra-thin steel foil is often likened to "precious gems embedded in the crowns of the steel industry."

Previously, this technology was monopolized by industrial powerhouses like Japan and Germany.

After hundreds times of failures, the research and development team at Qingtuo Cold Rolling Technology finally succeeded by optimizing the process and enhancing operational skills. They achieved this milestone using domestically produced equipment to successfully roll ultra-thin stainless steel foil with a thickness of 0.015mm and a width exceeding 600mm.
