Vn-Z.vn November 13, 2023, Google is planning to delete millions of email accounts from this system in the near future. If you have an old Gmail account that you haven't logged in for a long time, you may have to log back in to that account in the near future if you don't want that Gmail account to be deleted.

In early 2023, Google announced plans to delete inactive Gmail accounts. This plan will be implemented by Google on December 1, 2023, with just over 2 weeks left until the implementation deadline.

Google is removing unused Gmail accounts because they are particularly vulnerable to hacking. Hackers will often take control of old email addresses and then use it to send phishing emails. Gmail accounts that have been inactive or abandoned for a long time are also less likely to enable features like two-factor authentication.

Starting December 1, Google will begin deleting accounts that have been inactive for at least two years. Accounts will be deleted in a phased approach, so the first accounts to be deleted will be those that were created but then never used.

Previously in 2020, Google also announced plans to delete the content of inactive accounts including Gmail, Drive and Photos. The plan to remove accounts in December will affect services like Gmail, Drive, Docs, Meet, Calendar and Photos. Google said it currently has no plans to remove accounts with YouTube content or Bloggers connected to those accounts.
