HMD Global is trying to eliminate the 'traces' related to Nokia.

On November 16, 2023, HMD Global unveiled and released smartphones under the Nokia brand for the past six years. In September 2023, the Finnish company also announced plans to establish a new product ecosystem by introducing its own branded HMD products.

HMD Global's first phone under its own brand, the "M-Kopa X1" (TA-1585), was launched, essentially a renamed smartphone derived from the previously released Nokia C32.

Currently, HMD Global is gradually "erasing traces of Nokia," aiming to establish its brand reputation under the name "HMD Global" and separate itself from the closely associated impression with the Nokia brand.

Also in September 2023, HMD Global announced the discontinuation of support for the "My Phone" app, urging all "My Phone" users to migrate to the official Discord of the "Nokia Phone Community."

The official Discord has also deleted all content related to "Nokia" and renamed itself to "HMD."

According to Nokimod, the community where Nokia fans used to gather is now simply called the "HMD Community," displaying prominently the new logo of HMD Global on the Discord banner in the upper left corner.

HMD's official account announced on Discord that users could have "Exclusive Q&A" with HMD Global's Design Director, Raun Forsyth, on Discord. However, this expert is currently not found on the Discord server.

HMD Global's process of "erasing traces of Nokia" is truly regrettable. The new HMD devices may no longer follow the previous beliefs of Nokia, and the former Nokia community seems to have died out once again.
