Earlier this week, Microsoft made a surprising move by announcing Copilot for Windows 10. Previously exclusive to Windows 11, Copilot is launching a previous generation operating system that still supports more than a billion devices.

If you're not planning on upgrading to Windows 11 anytime soon but don't mind trying out Microsoft's latest AI-powered assistant, here's how to get it right now (shout out to Albacore @ thebookisclosed on X for sharing share these findings ) . Alternatively, you can take a more conservative route and wait for Microsoft to make Copilot available to your system "organically" whenever your system feels ready. An update containing the necessary bits will arrive in the Stable Channel soon, but Copilot's staggered rollout will take longer.

While Windows 10 is a long-running and stable operating system and Release Preview updates rarely break things, it's best to be careful before doing so. presently. Also, always back up important data before any testing.
