Vn-Z.vn On November 14, 2023, Intel released the 14th generation Core i9 processors. Although this may be a speed upgrade from the 13th generation, Intel has implemented some new technologies that make the 14th generation processors more powerful. The desktop version, i9-14900K, boasts a clock speed of up to 6GHz, while the special limited edition i9-14900KS reaches a higher speed of 6.2GHz.

On laptops, the new Core i9 series is only used for mainstream and ultrabook laptops. The 55W HX series is used for top-tier gaming laptops and is also part of the 14th generation, including models such as i7-14650HX, i7-14700HX, i7-14750HX, i9-14900HX, and others.

Currently, in the GeekBench database, information about the i9-14900HX has appeared, confirming that this laptop processor will have 8+16 cores, 32 threads, a 36MB L3 cache, and an actual boost frequency of up to 5763MHz.

Thus, it can be seen that the maximum Turbo Boost frequency of the i9-14900HX can reach 5.8GHz.

Compared to the 13th generation i9-13980HX/13950HX, this speed is 200MHz higher, and compared to the similarly named i9-13900HX, it is 400MHz higher. Currently, this is the highest-speed laptop processor.

Although at high frequencies, the scores of the Intel i9-14900HX are impressive, with GeekBench 6 reaching 2998 points for single-threaded and 17937 points for multi-threaded performance. With some proper tuning, the speed capabilities of the Intel i9-14900HX can surpass the 3000 points for single-threaded and 18,000 points for multi-threaded thresholds, surpassing all current laptop processors, although the difference is not significant.

To compete, AMD will also release the Fire Range processors with Zen5 architecture. We will have to wait and see at CES.
