At the launch event, MediaTek declared that for three consecutive years, it has maintained its position as the number one provider of System-on-Chip (SoC) solutions for mobile phones worldwide.

MediaTek describes the Dimensity 9300 as an "innovative high-end 5G AI mobile chip," marking the world's first high-end AI mobile chip with a "4 (Big Core) + 4 (Bigger Core)" architecture. Utilizing TSMC's new 4nm manufacturing process, the Dimensity 9300 chip integrates 227 billion transistors.

The Dimensity 9300 is designed with a core structure comprising 1× 3.25GHz Cortex-X4 + 3× 2.85GHz Cortex-X4 + 4× 2.0GHz A720, omitting the use of low-power, small-core Arm Cortex-A5XX cores. It features 8MB of Level 3 cache and a 10MB system cache. Compared to the Dimensity 9200, the Dimensity 9300 offers a 15% improvement in performance and a 40% increase in multi-core performance at the same energy consumption level. MediaTek states that under the full-core architecture, the Dimensity 9300 consumes less power compared to the Dimensity 9200.

In terms of benchmark scores, the Dimensity 9300 achieves a multi-core Geekbench V6 score of up to 8000 points and an Antutu V10 score exceeding 2,130,000 points. Additionally, in a cold test environment (placed inside a refrigerator), this chip can reach over 2,200,000 points on Antutu.

The Dimensity 9300 integrates a 12-core Immortalis-G720 MC12 GPU running at 1300MHz. With architectural and technological improvements, the peak performance of the chip increases by 23% compared to the Dimensity 9200, and light-tracking performance improves by 46%. At the same performance level as the Dimensity 9200, the Dimensity 9300 reduces energy consumption by up to 40%. Regarding display capabilities, the Dimensity 9300 supports WQHD displays with a refresh rate of up to 180Hz or 4K displays with a refresh rate of 120Hz. It also supports multitasking displays for foldable devices and Android 14's Ultra HDR display format. Notably, MediaTek's Dimensity 9300 platform will introduce a light-tracking feature specifically for the game "World of Martial Arts."

The Dimensity 9300 also integrates MediaTek's seventh-generation Artificial Intelligence Processing Unit (APU 790), specifically designed for image-based AI. It smoothly runs large AI language models with 1 billion, 7 billion, 13 billion, and up to 33 billion parameters on end devices. This is achieved through advanced hardware compression technology called NeuroPilot Compression, significantly reducing the memory footprint of large AI models on end devices, enabling powerful image-based AI processing on mobile devices. MediaTek states that image-based AI inference using Stable Diffusion takes less than 1 second.

With the support of MediaTek's seventh-generation AI Processing Unit (APU), the Dimensity 9300, a 5G AI mobile chip, can continue to perform low-rank adaptation (LoRA) on large base models on mobile devices, making these basic large models more comprehensive. Additionally, MediaTek's NeuroPilot AI development platform builds a diverse AI ecosystem, supporting advanced large AI models such as Android, Meta LIama 2, Baidu Wenxin Yanyi, and Baidu Zhineng Baidu. This provides innovative AI experiences on mobile devices, including text, images, music, and other fields.

Furthermore, the Dimensity 9300 has been upgraded to the Imagiq 990 ISP image processor, supporting AI semantic engine, 16-bit image segmentation, dual depth and brightness contrast, double lossless zoom, optical image stabilization (OIS), high-definition audio recording noise reduction with 3 micros, and can filter up to 99% of wind noise at a wind speed of 25 km/h.

Furthermore, the Dimensity 9300 is equipped with a new secure boot processor, a secure computing environment, and extended Armv9 memory safety features, helping developers avoid memory vulnerabilities, making upcoming smartphones more secure. In terms of network connectivity, the Dimensity 9300 supports Wi-Fi 7 and sub-6 GHz bandwidth for 5G, with download speeds up to 7Gbps. MediaTek stated that the first batch of devices running on the Dimensity 9300 platform will be introduced later this month.
