Information indicates that users need to pay a monthly fee to remove ads on the platform. Of course, that's not all, users who use both Facebook and Instagram will also have to pay extra to have their profile covered on both platforms.

In addition, there is a difference in the price of purchasing this service through different channels: if purchased via the Internet, the price is 9.99 euros per month (about more than 260,000 VND; if purchased through the Google or Apple app stores is 12.99 euros per month (about more than 335,000 VND).

Starting March 1, 2023, each additional account in the User Account Center will be charged an additional fee of 6 euros per month on the website and 8 euros on iOS and Android side.

This service is only intended for users over 18 years of age. According to Meta, the company will require adult users to register or use its products for free following legal changes in some regions.

Earlier in July 2023, the EU Supreme Court banned Meta from merging user data collected through its platforms (including Facebook, Instagram and WhatsApp) as well as websites and apps outside, unless explicit consent has been obtained from the user.

Meta was also fined 390 million euros by Irish regulators in January for forcing users to accept personalized advertising as a condition of using Facebook.

These EU rulings stem from the enactment of Europe's General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) in 2018, landmark legislation aimed at protecting people's online data.
